aWe don’t get the Super Cub in the Philippines, and that’s one of the biggest frustrations for Honda fans here in our market. But we can only imagine said frustrations to only get even worse, as this legendary two-wheeler has now reached the end of the road.
Due to tightening emissions regulations, presumably among other reasons, Honda had reportedly decided to end production of its small-displacement bikes, the iconic Super Cub 50 included. Now, the Japanese marque is bidding farewell with this new Final Edition model, 58 years after the first Super Cub 50 was introduced.

The Super Cub 50 is the smaller sibling of the original C100 and was released eight years after the birth of the world’s best-selling motorcycle of all time. It’s powered by a 49cc four-stroke engine that produces shattering figures of 3.64hp at 7,500rpm and 3.8Nm of torque at 5,500rpm. Jokes aside, they say you meet the nicest people in a Honda, right? Hard to not be nice when you’re riding a slow, cutesy bike like the Super Cub.
This final iteration features a ‘Bonnie Blue’ colorway that harkens back to the Super Cubs from the good old days. It features white fairings, chrome-plated wheels and exhausts, front and side emblems, and a two-tone seat. The ignition key also features a special design.
The Final Edition model, surprisingly, will be released on December 12 alongside Hello Kitty versions of both the outgoing Super Cub 50 and the surviving Super Cub 110. The Hello Kitty rendition celebrates 50 years of the famed cartoon character and boasts a bright ‘Magna Red’ finish with a ribbon accent on the left and right side covers. Only 300 units for the Super Cub 50 and 1,000 for the Super Cub 110 will be built.
How would you say goodbye to a legend? With the proper Final Edition model or this quirky Hello Kitty version?
