    The International is the most prestigious tournament in Dota 2, where the winners are hailed as legends who have reached the peak of their esports careers.

    At the start of each DPC season, the goal of all teams and players remains the same — to win TI.

    On top of taking home the lion’s share of the massive tournament prize pool, the team that wins TI will also have their names and handles engraved on the Aegis of Champions.

    We’ve listed down all TI winners over the years to show how much the tournament’s prize money has grown. Valve and the community have consistently worked to increase the total prize pool in each successive tournament.

    What is The International?

    The International is Valve’s annual Dota 2 world championship tournament where the best Dota 2 teams battle it out for the title and one of the biggest prize pools in all of esports.

    TI10 held the record for the highest TI prize pool, with US$40,018,195. Team Spirit took home US$18,208,300 for winning TI10.

    After The International took a hiatus in 2020 due to the COVID-19 global pandemic, Valve hosted the tournament in the following year and crowned Team Spirit as its TI10 champions.

    Team Spirit became the first Russian team to win the Aegis of the Immortal by defeating Chinese powerhouse team PSG.LGD 3-2 in the grand final.

    Tundra Esports put together a near-perfect performance at TI11, finishing at the top of their group and a 9-1 record in the playoffs.

    Tundra lifted the Aegis of Champions after a clean 3-0 sweep of Team Secret in the grand final held in Singapore.

    At TI12, Russian powerhouse Team Spirit achieved a remarkable feat — they claimed their second Aegis of Champions. This accomplishment had previously been attained by only one other team, OG Esports.

    Team Spirit, with the exception of their position 2 player, fielded the same TI10-winning lineup. They delivered a dominating performance in the grand final, winning 3-0 against Gaimin Gladiators, a team that had claimed all three Major championships in the DPC 2023 season.

    In stark contrast to their 2021 victory, where they earned a significant portion of the largest prize pool in esports history, Team Spirit’s winnings this time amounted to only US$1,413,194.

    TI13 winner: Team Liquid

    Western European squad Team Liquid reached the pinnacle of Dota 2 once again, capturing their second Aegis of Champions with a victory at TI13.

    This win places Team Liquid alongside OG and Team Spirit as one of the few organizations to have claimed Dota 2’s most prestigious title more than once.

    Team Liquid dominated the playoffs, going undefeated in six consecutive games to reach the grand final. On Dota 2’s biggest stage, they swept fellow Western European team Gaimin Gladiators 3-0, securing the coveted Aegis.

    Along with the championship, Team Liquid took home US$1,170,965, the second lowest grand prize in TI history, with TI1 and TI2 offering the lowest at US$1 million each.
